A Steady Mind, A Creative Soul

From Mumbai to Snipp 

Born and raised in Mumbai, Omkar Bhatkar brings a calm, grounded presence to his work. He joined Snipp in 2016 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and has spent nearly a decade growing with the company. “This is my first job after qualifying for CA,” he says. “As a person I’m a happy-go-lucky person who values punctuality.” 

Outside work, he finds peace in nature and often returns to his native Konkan region of India for its greenery, quiet beaches, and the scenic Konkan railway. “Whenever I get time, I like to travel to this region. It's green and really beautiful.” 

The Creative Side Few Know About 

While many know Omkar as a finance professional, few know about his artistic roots. 

“My dad and uncle are both artists, and I like to think I’m carrying that legacy forward." 

He has been sketching and painting since childhood and still enjoys working with watercolors and pencil sketches. 

Music is another quiet escape for him. “I sometimes try playing the keyboard… whenever I get time, I play to relieve my stress,” he says with a laugh, noting that most colleagues don’t know this about him. 

Growing With Snipp 

Omkar’s career at Snipp has been marked by constant evolution. He started as a consultant before rising through the roles of Assistant Manager, Manager, and now Senior Manager, Finance. His responsibilities span revenue contracts, unbilled revenue tracking, revenue recognition, receivables, sales commissions, compliance, accounting, and audit processes. 

“My work responsibilities kept changing over the period of time with Snipp,” he reflects. “That’s what I enjoy the most.” 

Two moments stand out as especially defining. The first came when his former manager left the company. “All his responsibilities were passed on to me, and I took that as an opportunity to prove myself,” he says. The second came with a change in the audit process. “It was another challenge,” he recalls, “but we dealt with that situation very patiently and got the work completed smoothly.” 

Life Beyond Work  

Away from spreadsheets, Omkar enjoys simple pleasures. He once played cricket regularly but paused during his CA studies. “I used to play cricket, but when I started college and all the education stuff, I got busy and couldn’t continue,” he says. He still follows the Indian Cricket Premier League closely. “I support the Mumbai Indians team since I’m from here.” 

He plays chess casually on his phone and admits he is still learning. Cooking, he jokes, is not his strong suit. “I can only make tea and instant noodles,” he laughs. 

The Heart of His Journey 

Omkar’s proudest achievement remains earning his CA qualification. “I was happy to see my parents proud on result day,” he says.  

And after nearly ten years at Snipp, what keeps him here is the culture. “What I appreciate most about Snipp is the flexibility. I can work anytime and from anywhere.” 

What defines Omkar most is his outlook on life. His advice to his younger self is simple yet profound: “Never feel demotivated if you lose one opportunity. There will always be another knock on your door.” The lesson he carries forward is just as meaningful. “Be kind, do good to all. Good things will come back to you like a boomerang at the right time.” 

It’s this blend of intelligence, creativity, discipline, and kindness that makes Omkar not just a strong voice in finance, but a deeply human part of Snipp.
