Véronique Crévieux - Marketing and Business Development Manager EMEA, Rome
When Literature marries MarTech
Originally from Paris, Véronique moved to Rome to pursue her PhD in Italian literature. However, a small experiment or what she describes as a “game” with MarTech landed her fate in IT, where she has remained for the past 15 years.
“It’s counterintuitive, but the IT industry is one the most human-centric industries you can work in,” says Véronique when asked what keeps her in tech. “There is always constant communication between people to solve problems. Tech brings people together.”
How to wake up and love your job
At Snipp, Véronique has a hybrid role between business development and marketing for the EMEA region. Feeling the “heartbeat” of the industry, Véronique identifies business opportunities for Snipp, builds connections with experts, and drives marketing and content production to “open the door for sales.”
Véronique says she is energized by the “amazingly skilled” people at Snipp, who are always willing to lend a hand to their co-workers. Immersed in a supportive work culture that places full trust in their people to get the job done (no micromanagement!) sets Snipp apart, for Véronique from her former jobs.
“You know you’re in the right place when you wake up, and you’re happy to go to work,” says Véronique.
One never really ceases to discover the strength from within
While juggling various roles at Snipp, she also finds time to read Antoine de Saint-Exupery, Isaac Asimov, Guy de Maupassant, and Annie Ernaux – only a handful of names from her long list of favorite authors.
Véronique love affair with Italian literature is what she confesses gave her one of life’s greatest lessons. Back in college, she was tormented by self-deprecation when harboring self-doubts about her dissertation on Giuseppe Ungaretti, a stalwart of modern Italian poetry.
“When the jury approved my paper, I remember promising myself never to doubt my worth again,” confesses Véronique. “I didn’t complete my PhD, but I continue to listen to my inner voice of self-trust. One never really ceases to discover the strength from within.”
The cat who revolted against Rome
However, she’s weak-hearted when faced with the demands of her cat Spartacus, whose namesake comes from the fierce gladiator who dared to revolt against Rome.
Véronique assures that her domestic feline is rather harmless, if not overtly “silly and affectionate.”
