In his downtime, Steven loves spending time with his dog Blue, a typically energetic Labrador, who often runs over his Maine Coon cat, Muenster (like the cheese!). When he isn’t managing the delicate relationship between his pets, Steven unwinds by throwing pottery, woodwork, listening to music from his extensive (100+) record library, or enjoying the great outdoors with his wife.
The Accidental Salesman
Steven admits that he is an “accidental” salesman. After receiving a full ice hockey scholarship (as a former USA U-17 & U-18 ice hockey player) in pursuit of dental school, Steven decided to ditch fixing teeth and joined Snipp.
“I am not naturally a ‘sale-sy’ person,” says Steven. “I’m an introvert who is a completely self-taught salesman.”
Steven managed to excel at sales by educating himself on the tech-business landscape of Snipp’s clients. “This way, when I talk to potential customers and current clients, I am an informed solution-provider who is educating them and open to being educated in return,” explains Steven.
Cutting the BS
Handling the US West Coast sales account for the past decade, Steven loves the versatility of client profiles at Snipp and strategizing unique programs for them in ways that meets their business goals.
“Let’s cut the sales BS and make the client’s life easier. That’s when I consider the job done well,” says Steven.
Letting go of control & dodging bad drivers
When storms hit life, Steven likes to lean on a simple philosophy – control what you can and let the rest go.
Except he can’t help his exasperation with paying for parking and dodging bad drivers on I-70 as he heads out for his next adventure.
