Amber Evans grew up in the coalfields of southern West Virginia, where she developed a deep appreciation for community, resilience, and the outdoors. A move to Detroit at 45 marked the beginning of a new chapter, opening the door to new experiences, further education, and causes that are close to her heart.
“I've learned that it's never too late to start over or grow into something new.”
When she's not at work, Amber enjoys creating art, fishing, exploring Michigan, and cheering on Detroit's sports teams. She also dedicates much of her free time to volunteering with the Motor City Mitten Mission and fostering Hank, an eight-year-old mastiff with hip dysplasia.
One thing she admits she has little patience for? Poor communication.
“A simple update can prevent confusion and make someone else's job so much easier.”
As Games Admin and Compliance Supervisor at Snipp, Amber oversees games administration and compliance, ensuring sweepstakes, contests, and promotional programs are run accurately, fairly, and in line with official rules. From winner verification and prize fulfillment to process improvements and team supervision, she helps keep every promotion running smoothly behind the scenes.
Her path to Snipp includes experience with PrizeLogic and Don Jagoda Associates, along with years of leadership in customer service and running her own creative event and design business.
While compliance requires precision, Amber's favorite moments are surprisingly personal.
“The most rewarding part is communicating with winners. Knowing you've created a positive memory for someone makes all the behind-the-scenes work worthwhile.”
She enjoys watching a promotion come together from start to finish, solving unexpected challenges along the way while ensuring every detail is handled with care.
Outside the office, creativity is woven into almost everything Amber does. Before entering the promotions industry, she owned a business creating custom cakes, paintings, photography, handmade crafts, and coordinating events.
She also has an unexpected fascination.
“I'm slightly obsessed with loggerhead sea turtles.”
Every year she visits Topsail Island in North Carolina, a nesting sanctuary for loggerhead turtles, inspired by their resilience and remarkable journey to adulthood.
Life presented another creative challenge after shoulder replacement surgery, when Amber had to relearn how to paint and fish using her left hand.
“It was frustrating at first, but it taught me that creativity can adapt even when life doesn't go according to plan.”
What Amber values most about Snipp is the opportunity to keep learning. Every promotion is different, offering fresh challenges and opportunities to improve processes and collaborate with talented colleagues around the world.
She joined Snipp as a Promotions Coordinator and has steadily grown into her current leadership role.
“That growth showed me the company recognizes hard work and gives people opportunities to make a meaningful impact.”
Amber's proudest achievement isn't limited to her career. She is the first person in her family to graduate from college, returning to school later in life while balancing work, volunteering, family responsibilities, and recovery from surgery. She earned her degree in social work after becoming involved in human trafficking prevention, juvenile justice, and supporting people experiencing homelessness.
Professionally, she takes equal pride in the trust she's earned to lead teams, strengthen processes, and help ensure Snipp's promotions are administered with integrity.
Balancing a demanding career, higher education, volunteering, and personal challenges has not always been easy. Amber credits organization, communication, and adaptability for helping her navigate it all.
“Challenges don't disappear overnight, but they become manageable when you focus on the next right step.”
If she could offer advice to her younger self, it would be simple.
“Don't underestimate your abilities, and don't let fear delay your goals. There is no deadline for becoming the person you want to be.”
The best advice she's ever received has become a guiding principle in both life and work.
“Take life one day at a time.”
For Amber, success is about more than delivering great work. It's about using your skills to help others.
“My experiences have taught me the importance of resilience, compassion, creativity, and using your skills to make a positive difference.”
Whether she's ensuring a promotion runs flawlessly, celebrating a prize winner, volunteering in her community, or helping Hank enjoy his next walk, Amber brings the same qualities to everything she does: heart, determination, and a genuine desire to make life a little better for those around her.
