What is Snipp?
Snipp helps you better organize your life using the technologies you know best.
By integrating your mobile phone, your email address and the Internet, Snipp provides
you with a simple and powerful way to manage the flood of information you deal with
on a daily basis.
When you see something you are interested in (an ad in a magazine, an item on a
catalog, a classified ad in a newspaper) and want more information, look for the
Snipp code at the bottom of the page – it will be right next to the Snipp logo .
Text the Snipp code to S-N-I-P-P (7-6-4-7-7) and we’ll send you an email with more
information, pictures, links to buy it – anything you want. And all your ‘Snippets’
(i.e. all the items you have snipped) will be available for you at www.snipp.com.

What is a Snipp code?
The Snipp code is a ‘keyword’ selected by the advertiser that is associated with
an item. For example, the Snipp code ‘NOKIA’ might be used when advertising phones.
When you see an item you are interested in (an ad in a magazine, a product in a
catalog, a classified ad in a newspaper) and want more information, look for the
Snipp code at the bottom of the page. The Snipp code is usually right next to the
Snipp logo , so when you see the logo you know you can Snipp the item. Text the
Snipp code to S-N-I-P-P (7-6-4-7-7) and we’ll send you an email with more information,
pictures, links to buy it – anything you want.
Where does my Snippet go after I text it to 76477?
Unregistered Users: You can text us your email address and all your Snippets will
be sent to your email inbox. The Snippets are also stored at www.snipp.com and can
easily be retrieved once you register with the site. Sign up now – it takes less
than a minute to do (we have timed it!). Registered Users: Your Snippets are e-mailed
to you and are also stored in your personal “Snipp sack” at snipp.com. View your
snippet by clicking the emailed link or logging into your account.
How would I use Snipp?
What do you do when you see something you are interested in (an ad, a product, an
event, a location) but can’t respond to it at that instant? Tear out the magazine
page? Hunt for a scrap of paper to jot down a name? Stick a Post-It on your PC?
Try to memorize the information on the billboard? Snipp is the perfect solution
for those people who don’t have photographic memories. Snipp allows you to get more
information about something you are interested in – but at your convenience and
only when you are ready for it.
All you have to do is text in the Snipp code for the item to S-N-I-P-P (7-6-4-7-7)
and we’ll do the rest! We send you back an email with more information (including
pictures and links and anything else you may need) and back it up by storing all
your Snippets on your personalized web page at www.snipp.com Here are a couple of
examples of Snipp in action:
Catalogs
Snipp the items from a catalog that you’re interested in and receive a link that
takes you straight to the checkout section of the website, with all the Snipped
items waiting for you in your shopping cart. No more calling tiresome 1-800 numbers
or scrolling through thousands of items on a website!

Read about events that you want to attend (concerts, lectures, plays, museums)?
Snipp, snipp, snipp and you’ll get an email with information, links to purchase
tickets – and discount coupons if they’re available. We’ll even add the event to

Does Snipp cost anything?
All Snipp text messages sent and received by you will incur standard SMS charges
according to your specific wireless plan. There are no other charges that apply
other than the cost of sending and receiving text messages. If you think you are
going to Snipp a lot of stuff, we recommend adding a mobile plan that includes a
package of text messages
Is the service available everywhere?
The Snipp service is only available in the United States for now.
Which carriers support Snipp?
Snipp is supported by the following carriers:

- Virgin Mobile
If you don't see your carrier on this list, send an email to
support@snipp.com and we'll let you know when support becomes available.
Check with your carrier for details regarding availability and pricing of text messaging
in your current calling plan.
What does SMS stand for?
SMS stands for Short Message Service. It is also called “text messaging”. It's the
service that lets you to communicate with other people using text messages or "texts"
(160 characters or less) and is available on pretty much all phones in the USA.
Do I need to install anything on my phone or computer to use Snipp?
Nope. You can use Snipp with almost any phone (as long as it has the ability to
send text messages – as long as you bought your phone in the 21st century you should
be fine). You also need a computer with internet access. (again, as long as you
got it in the 21st century, you should be fine)
How do I add Snipp to my phone's address book?
Simply save the number 7-6-4-7-7 in your phone’s address book. Save it as “Snipp”
just so you don’t forget. From then on, you can just retrieve the number from your
address book and Snip away.
How do I sign up for Snipp?
Signing up for Snipp is easy! You can either go to www.snipp.com, click on the “Sign
me up” button and fill in the registration form. It takes less than a minute to
do it – we timed it. So go sign up now.
Alternately, you can use your phone to sign up. Simply Snipp in a Snipp code (i.e.
send the Snipp code to 7-6-4-7-7), and if you’re not registered, we’ll send you
back a text message asking you for your email address. Hit “Reply” and send us your
email address, and you’ll start receiving Snipp emails immediately.

How do I organize my Snippets?
Your Snippets are already organized for you! No need to think up organization hierarchies
or try and make them consistent for every occasion. We have done the hard work for
you. All Snippets in your folder are pre-organized in an intuitive categorization
schema.
What can I do with my Snippets?
Lots, actually. You can:
- Send your Snippets to a friend

Click on the links attached to each Snippet
- For locations,
you can add the address to your address book (and see it on a Google map)
- For events, you can add the event to your calendar …and
we are adding in new functionality all the time!
Can I make my own Snippets?
Yes! If you are an advertiser looking to create your own Snippets, please contact
sales@snipp.com. There is a back-end Snipp Advertiser site that allows advertisers
to create new Snippets and monitor them. At some point soon, advertisers will be
able to go into the site and create their own Snippets. For the moment, please contact
sales@snipp.com for information on how to do it yourself.
Why are some Snipps paused or expired?
Advertisers who create their own Snippets are allowed to specify a time period for
those Snippets. If you have Snipped the item and it is past the advertiser time
period, you can see the information provided on the Snippet; however, you cannot
send the snippet to your friends as it is no longer active.
How do I unsubscribe from the service?
That’s the beauty of it. We only send you messages (SMS and emails) when you Snipp
us first, if you don’t want to receive any information from the service, just stop
using us. If you really want to unsubscribe from the service, just text the word
“STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” to S-N-I-P-P (7-6-4-7-7). Alternately, you can click on
the My Account tab and click on the “Deactivate my account” link. In both cases,
your account is not deleted. To reactivate the account simply start using Snipp
again – either on your phone or log in to www.snipp.com again.
